If no one rocks the cradle, who will rule the world?
Because of the explosion of greed and capitalism in America, an overwhelming number of American children are raised, nurtured and cared for during their most formative years by people outside of their family. The end result is a nation of people who are losing their core values, their social structure, and their ability to feel human emotions like empathy, compassion, tolerance and respect. These are learned traits, and they are taught by loving parents to their cherished children.
America is experiencing a trend of de-value in the family unit, and it comes at an enormous price. There is no surrogate for family. You cannot impart the experience of being wrapped in love and care in any other way than to have it delivered every day of your young life by people who surround them in unquestioning, unfailing adoration. Only families can deliver this. The resulting foundation of self-worth and independence that this causes to be established in the human spirit is MANDATORY to become a productive, content and thriving adult who can then repeat the process with their own children.
Just like you cannot "teach" a person what fear feels like, other than to SCARE them, you cannot teach them to feel loved and wanted, other than for them to FEEL it. This happens in a family. By the way, the definition of "Family" is defined by the child... and lacking a traditional "family" they will then seek their own, because this is a basic human NEED. Unfortunately, too often, their "found family" is a street gang, who offers what they yearn for: acceptance, praise and belonging. Not at all surprising.
***Human beings are the only species on earth who will trust the care of their newborn offspring to a complete and total stranger, about whom they know little to nothing about.*** Try even coming NEAR a young animal with it's mother nearby... She will try to kill you.
It's the greatest plague that we have faced as a nation, and until we recognize it's impact, we will be victim to it's consequences. It is my belief that we can trace EVERY problem our society suffers directly back to our lack of family, and the disintegration of core human values that separate us from the animals. It's getting to be a THIN line. Used to be, a person wouldn't do something because "it was wrong". Now it has become very much a case of whether or not they can get away with it... Just like animals do. We are quickly becoming a nation without CONSCIENCE, which is the ONLY thing that separates man from beast.
